Huawei has launched its another smartphone in India named P20 Lite. Although, we were keenly waiting for P20 but Huawei has not made it available yet. However, theyhave put P20 Lite in the markets to have a healthy compeition with Oppo F7 and Vivo V9. All of these three smartphones have a notch just like iPhone X but we won't say its copied. Let's just assume it as their unique design.
So, today we are going to review Huawei P20 Lite on the basis of their specifications and everything. I used this device for about 9 days and I'm pretty confident to give an overall review about this smartphone. So, let's start without wasting our time.

Huawei P20 Lite Design and Display
Now coming to the design section, I found the design of P20 Lite very much same as iPhone X. I guess Huawei is trying to implement and set a smartphone with that looks of iPhone but in a cheaper price. But the design is almost copied, so I didn't like it. However, I will give full marks to Huawei as I personally love the notch and I guess they have copied it very well in a very positive way. On the back, there are dual rear cameras setup which is that equal to iPhone X. Overall, the back of the device is made with the glass with top and bottom coverings from the metal. Also, the fingerprint sensor is in right place according to me.
Now coming to the display section, P 20 Lite is supported by 1080p Full HD+ display which means you get a 19:9 aspect ratio with FullView display. Now, that's a wonderful thing if you're looking for a better and stylish smartphone. There's also a Night Filter mode which helps user in reading and seeing the smartphone without affecting their eye-sights in night time.
One of the best things I found here is users can manually select the resolution between HD+ (720x1520 pixels) and FHD+ (1080x2280 pixels). Now that's upto user how clear and better you want to see. This will directly save your battery if you chose lower resolution.
Huawei P20 Lite Performance
The processor provided here is an Octa-core processor featured by Huawei itself. I won't say the processor is too strong yet it is absolutely stunning at this price range. The processor used in this device is Hi-Silicon Kirin 659 SoC. Although, the processor is good but it gives me bumps when I get to know it is the same processor used in Honor 9 Lite which is priced at Rs.10999/- Huawei should have looked for a better processor if they could but I won't complain even now.
Along with this processor, Huawei has also given 4 GB RAM and 64GB Internal storage. The GPU used for the gaming purposes is the ARM Mali-T830 MP2 which is quite comparable and wonderful. Basically, I played heavy end games like Asphalt 8 and Subway Surfers and didn't notice any kind of glitches or lags while playing. Also, there were no heating issues.
So, according to me, this device won't give you any performance troubles.
Huawei P20 Lite Cameras
Nowadays, Cameras are an intergral part of the smartphones. If you're having a better camera in your device, it will equally count. So let me tell you here, the camera used in this device is the 16MP+2MP (f/2.2 aperture lens) with Bokeh Effect. I tried taking images in the daylight and artificial conditions, the results were equally good. I won't say the Rear camera is best, but at this price point, the camera is wonderful and comparable to other arch rival smartphones like Oppo F7 and Vivo V9.
Also, the front camera is given with 24MP which can take photos even in night mode. Overall, the camera performance is enhanced in this smartphone and it clearly looks by the type of images it has given to us.
So, I would say, at this price point, the camera looks wonderful.
Huawei P20 Battery
When you're using a smartphone, you should look over to the battery as well. The battery provided here is a 3000 Li-ion mah Battery which will only last about a day if used properly. I admit the Kirin 659 SoC processor is battery efficient but still, the device will not run more than a day. If you are fond of playing heavy games or using too much of social media (facebook, Instagram, YouTube), then I must say, you would have to charge twice to keep it going.
3000 mAH is always less if not on Stock Android. The UI here provided is EMUI 8.0 which runs on Android Oreo v8.0
Pros and Cons
- Powerful camera performance
- Notch design just like iPhone X
- Face Unlock feature
- Less Battery
- No Stock Android
- Software Bokeh effect mode
The Huawei P20 Lite will be available for Rs.20,000 in the Indian markets with competiting Oppo F7 and Vivo V9. To be honest, this is a contest where any smartphone could take over as all these 3 smartphones are having almost same specifications but with different processors. Talking about P20 Lite, you can expect a wonderful processor with some great camera but if you're fond of heavy gaming and think too much for the battery, you need to give this device a break. Choice is on you, when you have 3 devices in front of you!!
