OnePlus 5T Hands on Review

We have seen enough of OnePlus 5T now, but there are still many things that we don't know, like if it has some internal issues, how is the hardware, software and what are the other unique features that OnePlus has brought it into OnePlus 5T. Apparently, the pricing has been kept same as OnePlus 5 thus thinking totally about the users, but whether it is the worth? Let's find out in the detailed review of OnePlus 5T:

OnePlus 5T key specifications

  • 6 inches Full HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels)
  • 18:9 aspect ratio
  • 2.45GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor
  • 6GB of RAM
  • 64GB internal storage that cannot be expanded.
  • Dual camera setup, 16MP +20 MP with both f/1.7 aperture
  • 16 MP selfie camera

Flagship processor

Now talking about the best part of hardware, OnePlus 5T is packed with flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, the same processor which is present in other smartphones like Nokia 8, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 Plus. Currently, 835 SoC is the best processor in the market if we don't drag Apple's A11 Bionic chip into this. Overall, you get high performance with this processor and you won't complain in this department.

Internal Storage

OnePlus 5T has tried to become very smart, but they failed in this department. Let me tell you how. This OnePlus 5T has not external expansion slot, so the smartphone variant of 64 GB means there is even hybrid slot, which could be frustating to some users if you want to expand your storage. Particularly, I'm not talking about the 128 GB storage variant but still, there needed a backup for 64 GB variant.

Unlike OnePlus 5, which had telephoto lens, this time OnePlus 5T has improvised their camera performance by putting both the camera aperture as f/1.7 which would take the snaps even in low lighting and call for brilliant images. Surprisingly, the secondary rear camera does not bear any sensor (Monochrome sensor/ Telephoto Lens/ Widevision lens). It could have been awesome if the secondary camera too had some lens, but still they have improved a lot.

Also, if you're a selfie freak, then this might be a good option for you as it has 16 MP front shooter for selfies havinf f/2.0 aperture for bright side photos. Overall, you will never complain about OnePlus 5T in the camera department.

OnePlus 5T also has improved their display quality as now this smartphone's screen size if 6.01 inches to be exact. The resolution here is Full HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) with 424ppi (pixel density). The display adjustments are very well adjusted on this OnePlus 5T and there are no display errors which I have found during my testing period. So, there is no need to complain on this department as well.

OnePlus 5T is packed by 3300 mAH non-removable battery which can cause frustation to many users. The battery capacity should have been increased such that it runs the whole day. Now the on-screen time for OnePlus 5T is typically for 4-5 hrs which means it would last for 1 typical day. So, if you use your gadget a lot, then you would have to charge twice in a day. But admist of all these facts, there is fast charging support which solves all the problems of battery
