 LG has recently launched its flagship smartphone, LG G7 ThinQ for the year 2018 in China and South Korea. It has all the flagship specifications that you could probably think about. LG was behind in the game but since the comeback of G-series, they have been talked about. How to root LG G7 ThinQ using Magisk Module?


  1. Download ADB and FastBoot drivers on your PC/Laptop
  2. Enable USB Debugging option on your smartphone by going into Developer Options
  3. Unlock the bootloader of LG G7 ThinQ



Steps to root LG G7 ThinQ

1. Unlock the bootloader and Enable USB Debugging Option as described in pre-requisites

2. Download the root package files for LG G7 ThinQ on your Laptop. Click here to download- Download Link

3. Rename this downloaded file as root.img for further use

4. Connect your LG G7 ThinQ device to PC/Laptop with the USB Cable.

5. Go to the folder where ADB and Fastboot are installed. Open Command prompt window there

6. Reboot your device into bootloader mode by the following command

adb reboot bootloader

7. You need to flash the root file to root your G7 ThinQ. To flash, root.img, type the following commands:

fastboot flash boot_a root.img

fastboot flash boot_b root.img



8. Reboot your device by the following command:

fastboot reboot

9. Your device has been rooted.

10. To check if the device has been rooted, download this app and check: (Root Checker- Download Link)  

11. Download and Install the Magisk Manager App.

12. When you open the app, it will show the root access
