Smart phones have certainly helped change everything and are truly living up to the hype; they are indeed smart and as a result, it should not come as a surprise that Black shark, a Chinese gaming company, one that’s backed by Xiaomi will soon be launching a gaming smart phone. Images of the said smart phone have already been leaked online through Weibo and with rumors doing the rounds before the alleged launch date of April 13th; we have decided to take a closer look at the same.
From the leaked image, all we can make out is that the phone has a sturdy appearance, which we think has more to do with is gaming functionalities than with the phone itself. The gaming feature was inevitable since now you can sync up your phone with your television and other devices, it only makes sense for phone makers to explore the gaming feature. But as to whether the phone in question will replace RPMGG is something else that remains to be seen. For the moment, the smart phone in question is rumored to feature a fingerprint scanner, along with an OLED screen and dual rear cameras. But funnily enough, the Xiaomi name is missing from the phone itself – we guess xiaomi has worked out a deal with Black Shark and will recoup their investment in some other way.
As soon as the leaked images hit online, so did a few specs – and we were right, the gaming smart phone is indeed a powerful beast in every sense of the word. It comes with a Snapdragon 845 processor, FHD+ display (2160 x 1080), up to 8GB RAM, and 32GB internal space. We were surprised to learn that the gaming smart phone only comes with 32 GB internal storage and an 8GB ram. But if we were to take a guess, chances are that Black Shark will soon be launching a pro version with better Ram and storage capacity that should allow you to play any game online, without any loss of functionality. The smart phone in question already scored 270,860 on various benchmark tests, putting it on part with Galaxy S9.
The only other gaming phone to feature in the market happens to be Razor and it is with this phone that Black Shark’s phone will be going head to head with. The razor has long been touted as a gamers’ phone but now it will be getting some serious competition come April 13th. The Razor features 5.72-inch1440×2560 IGZO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 8GB RAM and a Snapdragon 835 processor; comparing it to the newly released Black Shark’s gaming phone features, it is obvious which one is better but we will know more about this, post the launch.
Now, we can expect other mobile players to pay close attention to the new gaming smart phone to hit the market. Moreover, we can expect other mobile makers to follow suit and some have even started preparing the groundwork for their own variant, of a smart phone for serious gamers. This was, as mentioned earlier inevitable since smart phones are being increasingly used for multiple purposes. It was only a matter of time before gaming features were incorporated into the smart phone and now thanks to razor and the new phone, that’s part of our reality now.
The real question is whether this phone will have the same functionality of other smart phones in the market, especially given its internal storage space and RAM. It is widely expected that the budget version may lack in certain aspects since the main focus will be on its gaming functionality. But overall, from what we can make out, it certainly sounds as if this phone will be the real deal where gaming is concerned.
