Just one day later of the launch of Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Micromax has also launched their budget ranged smartphone, Micromax Bharat 5. Now, the pricing of these smartphones basically differ by Rs. 500 ($80). So, we thought of comparing these both these smartphones on the basis of their specifications. Well, both of these smartphones are battling tough as the category is budget ranged smartphones and designed only for users havinfg very tight budget. So, let's compare these both the smartphones:
Xiaomi Redmi 5A is powered by 5 inches HD Display but let me tell you there is not any display protection whereas in Micromax Bharat 5, you get a little bit big 5.2 inches HD display. Under Bharat 5, you also get 2.5D curved display which looks fantastic. I have never seen such an option in a budget ranged smartphone. So, definitely Micromax has done something new whereas Xiaomi is unable to cook some display specifcations as they have just copied from Redmi 4A.
Yes, you won't see this feature unless you ask for mid-ranged or flagship smartphone. Xiaomi has a habit of offering Infrared in their smartphones. Using infrared, you can even use your smartphone as a remote controller of your Televisions, AC or setup boxes. This is not a very needy feature but still, it is a good thing. On the other hand, you don't get Infrared in Micromax Bharat 5.
Talking about the camera hardware, Xiaomi Redmi 5A has 13 MP rear camera shooter with f/2.2 aperture lens whereas Micromax Bharat 5 has only 5 MP rear camera. Don't go on this 13 MP camera, as this camera quality is very average. Never expect it to be as good as a typical 13 MP shooter. But yes, it is way better than 5 MP rear shooter of f/2.2 aperture which in Micromax Bharat 5. Also, the secondary camera of both the smartphones are of 5 MP with f/2.0 aperture. Seriously speaking, there are no basic differences in the camera, so never choose any of these smartphones by looking at their camera. I would rather recommend Micromax Bharat 5 if camera is concerned.
Here comes the main difference which you all want to know about. Xiaomi Redmi 5A is powered by a Quad-core 1.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC which is way better than MediaTek Quad-core processor in Micromax Bharat 5. Overall, if you see, both of these processors are quad-core, just the main difference you would spot is of companies. Nowadays, Qualcomm is a big brand with reputed name and its Snapdragon 425 SoC is very efficient, so you can't mess with it. On the other hand, I would not like to comment much on MediaTek processors. If you are looking for a smartphone, that won't hang or glich, just choose Redmi 5A, but don't expect to play heavy games in any one of them.
5. RAM and Internal Storage
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A budget-ranged variant has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB Internal storage. Out of 16 GB, only 8 GB is usable. But you can't complain as there is also dedicated microSD card slot. Micromax Bharat 5 has only 1 GB RAM and only 8 GB Internal storage. Clearly, you can spot, here is the main difference. For once, you can ignore internal storage as you can expand that, but what about RAM?? The RAM provided here is very low in Bharat 5. I would recommend Bharat 5 to those users, who are not very familiar with games and have other work to do.
6. Price and My Verdict
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is priced at Rs. 4999/- for 2GB/16GB variant whereas Micromax Bharat 5 is priced at Rs. 5555/- for its 1GB/8GB variant. Both of these smartphones are good at there pricing. One has a tag name of Indian company as well. Now the thing is, if you're a smart buyer and like to do odd tasks in your smartphone like playing games, installing and using heavy apps, then I would recommend and suggest you all to go with Redmi 5A. For those, who don't use their smartphone much, don't play heavy games or apps and would use camera for fun can buy Micromax Bharat 5. There is endless debate for which smartphone is better. But in my verdict, Xiaomi Redmi 5A is the real winner of its extreme price section as well
