Xiaomi has recently launched its Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and its one of the most burning topics right now as 1,50,000 Redmi Y1 units have been booked in just 3 minutes of its first sale. Clearly, the higlights of 16MP Selfie Camera is very enough to mesmerize users. If you guys have a low budget and you're looking for a camera smartphone, this might be your choice. But let's wait, as I'm trying to compare both of these smartphones one by one on its aspects so you can decide. The price range of both these smartphones are basically same, thus consfusing the users. So, before comparing both these smartphones, have a brief look at the specifications of Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Xiaomi Redmi Y1:
Now let's compare these smartphones on every aspects since there price ranges are almost same for the 3GB RAM /32GB Storage variant:
The screen size of Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is 5.5 inches thus equalling to that of Xiaomi Mi A1. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 also looks exactly same as Mi A1 since the screen size is same. However, Xiaomi Redmi 4 has screen size of 5 inches. Its not about judging here, as every user has their own likeliness. Some like 5 inches screen smartphones as they are very handy, whereas some like larger screens.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has pre installed MIUI 9 update, so that's a good thing for these users. Although, Redmi 4 users would get this update in some days but still, if you're planning to buy a smartphone with MIUI 9 update, you woudl have to opt for Xiaomi Redmi Y1.
I have personally used both of these smartphones and the results show that Redmi 4 has better rear camera as compared to Xiaomi Redmi Y1. I would also tell you the reason behind that. Xiaomi Redmi 4 has 1/2.0f lens whereas Redmi Y1 has 1/2.2f lens. Thus, the rear camera of Redmi 4 is better in every aspect
Now, here is the thing which you have to trust Redmi Y1 blindly. Redmi Y1 has 16MP Front Selfie camera shooter which is miles better than Redmi 4. Although, it is not fair enough to compare Y1 with Oppo F5 and Vivo V7+, but still, the front camera has a magnificiently higher edge upon this. Redmi 4 has 5MP front selfie camera.
This is the factor that most people do care about. Xiaomi Redmi 4 has a larger 4100mAH Battery which would easily have 8 hours of on-screen time whereas Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has only 3080mAH Battery which would last upto 1 typical day. For some people, battery is not a problem, but you have to compromise here. Also, since the screen size of Y1 is 5.5 inches so the battery would drain comparitively faster than Redmi 4.
Apart from these, all the other specifications are almost same. Now you have to make your choices and get along with the smartphone with your type
