How to get Default File Manager in Xiaomi Mi A1

As you all know, Xiaomi Mi A1 has recently arrived in markets and it is the most hottest smartphone in the market as compared to other mid range smartphones. Xiaomi MI A1 is now available on on Diwali Sale till 17th October. But, dont' make such hurry, watch this article, get your problem resolved and then buy this.

Problem with Xiaomi Mi A1:

To be honest, I personally have used Xiaomi Mi A1 and currently using this, there are no problems as such. One such feature that differentiates Mi A1 from other smartphones, is Stock Android which is actually a good thing. So, there are no additional bloatwares, no pre-installed apps from Xiaomi, no MIUI 8. But one common problem faced by all users are, there is no default file manager app or FM Radio app. For activating Radio, I've written one aricle, you may see that. In this article, I'm going to fix your problem with Default File Manager App, so you could feel ease with your device. So, let's get started:

Update: Xiaomi has today launched their official File Explorer app, but right now it is in BETA state but you can use it on your Mi A1 device, you won't be able to find any bug, it works great same as Xiaomi's MIUI devices

Method 1:

Download Mi Explorer
As of now this app is not available on Google Play store (i'll update the play store link ASAP), so here i have shared a download link from APKMirror, I would like to tell you that APKMirror is a trusted source to download apps. Just Download and install the Mi Explorer and use it on your Mi A1, here are some screenshots taken on my Mi A1 of Mi Explorer.

Method 2:

How to enable File Manager on Xiaomi Mi A1 device?

  1. Download an app called- Shortcut maker for documentsUI
  2. Now just tap on open to open that app
  3. Now it will show you a screen to rename your file manager app, by default it gives File Explorer and yellow color traditional File Manager icon which you can also modify to your own color as you like.
  4. After that just click on create shortcut, and it will create a file explorer shortcut on your device screen
  5. Now you have to go to  your screen and you will find that there are two File Explorer apps,  so I would like to tell you that one file explorer is the actual file explorer app and the second one is just that app which you have downloaded Earlier
  6. Now just uninstall that app and use your file manager without any issues, you can cut, copy, paste and delete files from this file manager shortcut.

So you have just created File Manager shortcut on your Xiaomi Mi A1 device, but if you are not happy with the functionality of this app you could download any third party File Explorer App like ES File Explorer or any other File Manager app on your Mi A1 device.
