Google Pixel 2 XL vs iPhone X, Which one is better?

INTRODUCTION

On 12th September, the whole world got trending with Apple iPhone X and within a month later, now the world is being in trend with the latest flagship killer, Google Pixel 2 XL. But here's the deal, which smartphone is better or which smartphone has more value for money in terms of there features and specifications. As a result, I have used both of these units and I'm going to tell you my experiences about both these smartphones. I hope you would better decide after my review, which smartphone is one for you:

Processor:

The Google Pixel 2 XL is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC which is currently the fastest processor of all time with 14nm technology. Thus we can say Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL have got the best processors which have the best power in them. On the other hand, Apple iPhone X is powered by its latest A11 Bionic Chip which Apple believes is faster than Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor. See, this is the thing which can't be reviewed or told you all at once. Both the processors on the either hand are even and wonderful so we leave the decision on to you. But still, to inform you all, we have got the geekbench Benchmarks of both these smartphones:

Geekbench Scores Comparison:

A11 Chip:

In the first 12 Geekbench scans of the A11 chip, it scored a single-core score of 4141 and multi-score score of 10438, outperforming the A10 chip

Snapdragon 835 SoC:

It has moderate score of single-core score of around 2000 and multi-core score of 7000. It is and still, well behind the king of all processors, A10 Bionic Chip

Face Recognition for Unlocking Smartphone:

This is getting one of the most important feature if you are buying a flagship killer smartphone. Mind you, in Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Samsung Galaxy S8+ and now in Apple iPhone X, there are Face Recognition. Let's keep the Samsung smartphones aside, Apple iPhone X has got Face Recognition which they call it Face ID which uses InfraRed (IR) camera for unlocking your phone, even when there's very less light. The Face ID is such a brilliant function, that it uses projections of 30,000 dots of human face and then capture it and save it for use.

Sadly, there's no such thing in Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL and you've to be dependent on you fingerprint sensor all the time. I know the fingerprint sensorhas got lightining speed out there, but what's the use of sensor when already the latest smartphones are dealing with Latest technologies.

Wireless Charging:

Since iPhone X has glass back body, so it supports Wireless Charging. The Google Pixel devices contain full proof metal body, so the possibility of having Wireless Charging terminates here. But still, considering the price range, Google Pixel 2 XL doesn't do any bad.

So, if you are not going to use this features, don't be bothered about this because this feature hasn't been developed fully in iPhone X yet. However, maybe in a year or two, Apple would focus more on Wireless Charging, but as of now, this feature is under developed.

Google Assistant vs Siri:

If I had to compare Google Assistant and Siri five years back, trust me, I would have given my vote to Siri due to its features and developed AI. But now, Google Assistant has been improvised in such a way that now it uses features like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Internet Of Things (IoT). With these features, Google Assistant feels like you're talking to your smartphone.

I'm not at all saying it's better than Siri as both of them got different features and different specifications. So, if you're born Apple user, you would like Siri, but my vote goes to Google Assistant for making it more brilliant in these recent years.

Unlimited Google Drive Storage:

Now if I talk about the storage conditions, everyone gets emotional. The thing is, you get more and more data storage free in Google devices for storing pictures and videos. The continuation of free, unlimited storage for all pictures and videos taken by Pixel owners is obviously welcome. Especially since Apple’s iCould, well, isn’t free (beyond 5GB).

In the field, the very knowledge of having that unlimited space has been freeing, in a sense. Battling with how much storage is left on your phone is a constant, nagging worry that doesn’t need to exist. And sifting through thousands of terrible photos - to see which should be binned - is never something I’m going to do, although I probably will have to at some point. But, for now, I’m happy to kick that can down the road with unlimited free storage and leave that problem to Future Me.

Android Updates vs iOS Updates:

One major advanatge of Google Pixel devices is whenever a new update from Android comes in, the Pixel devices will the first to get those updates. Clearly, these are powered by Google so Google would focus to get updates starting from there home devices. On the other hand, iPhone X will also get latest updates of iOS which is a wonderful thing. So, you can sense the victory in both the cases.

Camera Comparison:

This is a well known fact that DXOmark has has rated Google Pixel devices's camera at 98 which is an all time high. But don't worry Apple iPhone X users, because the ratings of iPhone X is still not out on DxoMark. So, considering the Dual Rear camera provided in iPhone X and front camera, somewhere I feel the camera of iPhone X is better. But that will be very minute difference. Even if you click many photos and videos in a day, you should not be bothered about Camera here because both these devices provide wonderful camera features and image quality.

Bezel-Less Design:

Many of you might not have noticed, but iPhone X is completely bezel-less device. I can't sense a single bezel on the top portion of iPhone X whereas there are some bezels on Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel 2 XL. So, if you compare these both the smartphones in terms of design and specifically, in terms of bezels, clearly, iPhone X has got the upper hand.

Price

Google Pixel 2 XL is $150 cheaper than iPhone X. Considering, a smartphone with endless features and just some features lacking behind iPhone X, $850 device is a super deal. I guess, Google has made an obnoxious move here by setting a price which is $150 less than what iPhone X has. So, value for money product would be Google Pixel 2 XL considering at this price section.
